Our History

Mulmar has a solid history in the Catering and Coffee Industry.

Founded in 1988 Mulmar was originally an off shoot of a large Irish catering equipment supplier. In 1989 the current owners, business partners Agostino Luggeri and Enzo Frangiamore purchased the company.

Initially the business specialised in the ice cream and specialty coffee sectors. The company were early importers of the La Cimbali brand and have since moved on to become the sole distributors for La Marzocco, Faema and created their own brand Grigia.

As pioneers in the specialty coffee industry throughout the 1990’s Mulmar had a series of firsts…

  • Supplied Cimbali bean to cup machines to Pret A Manger
  • A range of catering equipment including La Marzocco coffee machines to The Seattle Coffee Company (later purchased by Starbucks).
  • A range of catering equipment and Faema coffee machines to the first ever store of Caffè Nero, a relationship that has flourished to this day as the chain approaches 550 stores.
  • First to supply and develop standalone shared revenue coffee offering.

In addition to these impressive firsts Mulmar have forged strong links with several high profile clients over a number of years. These include national accounts such as Caffè Nero, Prezzo, Debenhams and WRVS all this without losing sight of its origins with independent and smaller coffee shops.

More recently, Mulmar has been selected as Roast and Ground equipment suppliers to Nestle.

As a provider of nationwide service cover Mulmar has become the service partner for a wide range of espresso and soluble coffee solutions for Nestle and also acts as a service partner for Costa Retail (within London) and Nespresso B2B (nationwide).

Over and above coffee equipment, Mulmar offers a complete design and supply of counters and bar furnishings, offering customers a turn-key solution from a coffee shop to a restaurant.

Mulmar has been a member of the S.C.A.E since its conception in 2001.
